SOLUTIONS
The river is considered as a unifying factor within the Nairobi province; it flows through and serves all constituencies. Unfortunately poverty, ignorance and general mismanagement has made the river, which was once the pride of Nairobi, a disgrace.
Some of the solutions are:
- proper garbage management
- invest in the drainage system
- implement environmental rules and procedures
- Involve the society
- Technological implementations

Solusive projects
These are some of the projects that are underway to resolve this problem:
- The NRBP project
The Nairobi River Basin Programme (NRBP) is an initiative with a vision to restore the riverine eco-system with clean water for the capital city and healthier environment for the people of Nairobi……
- The Toilet project
This is an initiative that I came up with to try and solve the disposal of human waste from informal settlements along the river’s bank and improve sanitation. The project is about building pit latrines about 10 meters from the river. The toilets are free to the public use. So far………

Adopt a mile – on the Kabuthe tributary of the Nairobi River.
